What We Collect

Measuring a watch

We only use your microphone after you press Begin Analysis. While a measurement is running, your browser sends the audio to our server, which calculates rate, beat error, and amplitude and sends the results back.

What we keep

When a measurement succeeds, we keep a filtered copy of the recording, its results, and the settings you chose, such as lift angle and watch model. Filtering focuses on the sound of the watch and greatly reduces voices and most background noise, but please still measure somewhere quiet and avoid talking.

These measurements are anonymous: they aren't linked to your name, email, IP address, device, or location. If you cancel a measurement or no clear signal is found, no recording or results are kept.

Movement requests

If you request a new movement, we keep the details you enter so we can add it to the list. Please don't include personal information.

IP addresses

Like any website, our server sees your IP address. We use it only to prevent abuse, store it only in scrambled form, and delete it automatically, usually within a few hours. It's never linked to your measurements.

How We Use It

We use stored measurements to improve the accuracy of our watch-measurement algorithms, both for Online Timegrapher and for our other watch products, such as the Backbeat Timegrapher app. We keep them for as long as they're useful for that.

We don't use your data for advertising or profiling, and we never sell it. We only disclose it if the law requires, or to a successor if Domisomi is merged or sold.

Hosting

Online Timegrapher runs on Cloudflare, which processes basic connection information, like your IP address, in the United States and elsewhere to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details. Traffic is encrypted, and only Domisomi can access stored data.

Cookies and tracking

We don't set cookies or use analytics or third-party trackers. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from bots. Because we don't track you, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals don't change anything.

Your Rights

Because stored measurements are anonymous, we can't find, show you, or delete a specific person's recording.

For anything else, such as emails you've sent us, you can ask to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing [email protected].

If you're in the EEA or UK, we process data based on our legitimate interests in providing the service, keeping it secure, and improving our algorithms. You can access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your personal data, and complain to your local data protection authority.

If you're in California, we don't sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

Online Timegrapher isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
